Is it over?

After a gorgeous Halloween Day we woke up to rain and snow today.
I am SO not ready for fall to be over just yet.
I suppose it's a good day to listen to a good book and finish this quilt for a friend.

I like to listen to books while I quilt.
It's never good idea to leave me alone with my thoughts
because I end up all kinds of stressed out!
So you should know that I listen to silly books.
Like really silly!
Here are a few recents...

The jury is still out on this one folks.
I liked Wicked Lovely but not enough to pick up the sequel.

I took the recommendation of this chick and read Vampire Academy.
I really liked it.  And I want to listen to the sequel but the narrator got bad reviews.
I'll have to check in with Amber on that one.

Okay, my nerd is showing now.
I love sci-fi!
And I really liked I am Number Four.
This sequel does not disappoint!

Loved Graceling's story!
The narrator?  Not so much.
Definitely read the book form because the narration is corny!

This book had me all stressed out!
I read this book because I loved Something Borrowed by Giffin.
I just couldn't handle the mess this girl was making of her life.

If you have any great recommendation's for great books please let me know.
And I need something new.
Clearly I do a whole lot of sewing and listening!

  1. Love the quilt! I am making a similar one right now. I have also been listening to books while I sew...Harry Potter has been my choice of late. What is the "key" fabric? Have a great day!

  2. Hi Katelyn,
You know, I have never read any of the Harry Potter books. In fact, I haven't even seen most of the movies. I should totally read those next, thanks! And the key fabric is from Sandi Henderson's Secret Garden line. It's soooo soft!

  4. I also listen to books while I quilt. It feels like my time is much better spent for some reason. Anyways, I just finished Life of Pi which was very interesting and engaging. I also listened to the last book of the Hunger Games (I read the first two). All of those books were extremely entertaining though slightly disturbing (especially the first one). I also love anything Austen or Dickens. Also listened to Lord of the Rings! Great listen. And yes, you MUST listen to Harry Potter. Jim Dale is an amazing reader! Happy listening!

  5. Side Stitches! Where have you been? You haven't posted on your blog for ages! Still waiting to see your paint ;-) And I loooooved The Hunger Games Series! It is my favorite series of all time. I wish they weren't making a movie. It would be best if they just left it alone. Right now, I'm kinda leaning towards Harry Potter. I mean everyone has to read those books at least once right? I had better get in line!

  7. you should most definitely check out the Elm Creek Novels. They are by Jennifer Chiaverini. There are quite a few of them, and are set in all different time periods, and with really loveable characters. I have listened to almost all of them. and i'm not even a quilter! (YET). :)
