Lookie here!

A few months ago I put together a queen size quilt top for Krystal.
When it was done I mailed it off to her so she could take it to the long arm quilter.
Very strange feeling....sending something that's not done.
I don't like it one bit.
But I made her promise me that she would send me pictures of the finished room.
Here they are...

Krystal got the itch and sewed these darling accent pillows.

Go here to see the cutest window valance that she and her husband made.

Shhh...

My sewing room has been awfully quiet lately.
That makes me feel weird.
Recently I have had other things that have required my full attention.
I've had to turn down all recent custom requests.
That makes me feel like a jerk.
Believe me, I'd rather be up to my eyeballs in custom work.
But I did take on this little project for one of my BFF's.

These little kites are super easy!
They sew up right quick.

I reinforced the edges by sewing floral wire into the binding interior.

Totally unrelated to sewing!

Recently I learned through my sister in law
that my ridiculously beautiful cousin, Cara, had started a blog called

Her blog demonstrates how to look like your favorite celebrities, step by step video tutorials on proper eyebrow maintenance, Victorias Secret styled locks, the right eye makeup for your eye color complete with brand and color names plus much more.

Below is a before and after for using bronzer as demonstrated by another ridiculously beautiful cousin of mine. My goodness she's gorgeous!

I have been checking in on her blog daily.  I think I have finally watched all of her video tutorials so far.  I loved her video for green eyes!  I have been wearing the same makeup for more than 8 years.  So I marched right out and bought all of the eye makeup prescribed.
Ahhh, change is good!

Long time no blog...

It's been a busy April/May.
Busier than I like to be.
I just finished up a slew of custom orders
I'm working on 2 new patterns
My kids have been studying for end of year testing
blah, blah, blah, blah blah....

Mother's Day kind of came out of nowhere this year!
So I stitched up this pillow for my Mom.

You know what, I have never sewn anything for my Mom.
Can you believe that?

Probably because she's a wicked seamstress with a well trained eye.
Heaven forbid she might see my shortcomings.

She really loves this Amy Butler collection.
And what do you know, she bathed me in compliments when I gave it to her.
Yay!

My mother in law loves her kitchen, loves to host and set her table.
And like all women, she loves beautiful things.
So I turned out these hot pads for her.
I know she'll never actually use them.
They will just hang decoratively from her oven handle.
I'm cool with that :-)

I had a fantastic Mother's Day!
I didn't have to cook or clean or anything.
That's my kind of day off.

Plus, I received this big beauty....

This is not my usual kind of Mother's Day present so don't go thinking that I'm spoiled or anything.
But really, I am so spoiled in all of the best ways.
I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day too!

REFUND

I have been working on these 2 quilts for a very long time!
Finally, they are done.
Finally!
Thanks Erica for being sooo patient.
BUT...I just might have to refund your money so I can keep them all to myself ;-)

Erica's son and daughter share a room.
It can be very challenging to keep a shared space from being too feminine or too masculine.
I had the liberty of choosing all of the fabric by myself.
These quilts have a little bit of everything in them.
Fabric potpourri, I'd say!

Erica certainly didn't ask for a pieced back but I think she is going to loooove them!
What can I say. sometimes I get carried away!
They are identical except Kate's quilt has a pink stripe where Andrew's is blue.

These 2 will be on their way to their new home first thing tomorrow morning
{sniff, sniff}
Erica, I hope you don't mind the extra time I took.
I think they were well worth the wait :-)
