I have been spending very little time
at my sewing machine AND the computer.
I gotta tell you, it's been sooooo nice!
Is that a terrible thing to say?
I love to sew. LOVE!
But I love my kids more.
And we've been busy playing :-)
I did, however, make some time yesterday to whip up
these cute little burp cloths for a friend.
I didn't take any pictures of the process
because, well, I just didn't think about it.
because, well, I just didn't think about it.
But there are some really amazing tutorials already out there.
I reinforced the decorative fabrics with a layer of
cotton batting that was trimmed just a tad smaller than my fabric.
Then I topstitched it into place because I really hate
how they get all shifty after they're washed.
You know what I'm talking about.
Like I said, sewing burp cloths isn't really what I do.
In fact, I think it's been 5 years since I last made them.
But I quickly remembered how much fun, quick and super easy they are.
I just might have to make more!
Heaven knows I always need baby gifts :-)
*all fabrics were leftover's from this fabricworm bundle*
Nice! I've been at my machine very little as well. I don't think summer is meant to be spent in front of a sewing machine - though I do love to sew, just like you.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Summer is great!
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable! I might have to try them that way.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with your kids Lu. Those burp cloths are so cute and the fabric is so sweet xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny but little things like this totally intimidate me. I made a pot holder yesterday and it totally didn't turn out :( These are cute though. Thanks for inspiring me. I should learn how to make these. I may call you some day for tips!
