Dear Nicey Jane,

I have plans for you!

I've had this fabric in my stash forever!

I have been waiting for the perfect inspiration to strike.
I couldn't use these pretties on just anything.

I've just finished up a whole lotta custom projects.
And now I'm ready to cut!

Darling Elisa!

This precious little girl won this giveaway last month.
Her Mom Niina emailed me this picture to tell me how much Elisa loved her goodies!

Isn't she precious!
This doll quilt and pillow are just a smidge too small for this darling 5 year old.
I think she just might need her very own special quilt :-)

Blissed Out!

(custom quilt I am working on this week with Moda Bliss fabrics)

I am new to selling my stuff.
For years I have saved my skills for the most special people in my life.
I spend a lot of time and take a lot of pride in my projects.
I truly love each one.
So I get very attatched to my quilts!
In the last month I  have shipped quilts to Indiana, Minnesota, Texas, Florida,Idaho and even Spain!
All of these women I have worked with feel like friends to me.
Afterall, they do have a little piece of my heart now.

Sharing Time

I bought this book late last year when it came out.
Now, I have a ton of quilting books and magazines but this one remains my favorite of all time!

I consider myself to be pretty experienced with a sewing machine but I still learned a TON from Elizabeth's book!

Elizabeth has terrific color sense!
She also takes the basic foundational quilting techniques and gives them an updated fresh look.

Whether you are new to quilting or not, this is a book that every crafter should have.

Check out her blog Oh Fransson!
It's full of inspiration.

"Surprise Me"

Those are my favorite words when someone wants me to make them a quilt!
I love having free reign with fabrics and pattern.
Gretchen from Indiana said these precious words to me most recently.
This sneak peek is for you girl....

I have loved making this quilt!
And I'm sad to say that I've used up the last of my Japanese imported stash.
But this quilt was so worth it.
Gretchen, I hope you love it!

Going round in circles....

Here is a reader question I get often....

Hi Lu!
My friend Gretchen McKinney just directed me to your blog. She is having you put together a little quilt for her son & I couldn't be more excited for her after seeing your work! You are so talented!
I am just finishing up my first quilt ever... that I made for my daughter... and it was such a simple little quilt. I bought some fabric to start on one for my son & I've been at a loss of what to do with it until I just looked at your blog & saw that you have created a quilt with it!
It's in the first post that you posted on the blog dated December 1st, 2010.... and it's the Riley Blake cars fabric. Would you please be so kind as to share with me what pattern you used for that quilt? It will only be my second quilt... do you think it's okay for a beginner?

I would appreciate any feedback you can give! I'm excited to follow your blog & see what else you come up with. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us! I'm looking forward to seeing what you create for my dear friend, Gretchen!

~ Jamie

I decided to post this most recent inquiry because the answer is so fun and free!

Who doesn't love free???

This is the bedding that Jamie is referring to.
I made this crib set for the lovely Melisa M. last year.

This darling little bundle below is Melisa's son Nixon.

Now I'll tell you what I told Jamie...
This pattern isn't near as hard or complicated as it looks!
And you can go here for the free pattern complete with great photos and instruction.

You have won this super fun doll set!

But...neither Joy or myself have an email address for you.
Will you please email me through my Etsy Store so I can send you your goodies?
Thanks :)
