It all started with an Anthropologie Dish Towel

This week I've been working on a quilt
She is a fabulous art teacher extraordinaire
that just moved into my neighborhood.

She offered a trade and I eagerly accepted!
Two of my kids will be so lucky to attend her
art sessions that go until May.  Supa fun!

This quilt is going to have literally everything in it!
Well....not everything.
But I let her rummage through all of my stash and we started
with the green Anthro dish towel with turquoise embroidery on it.
I've been packing it around for the last 5 years
just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.

While piecing I have been listening to this book...

I have to rave about this audiobook!
The narration is phenomenal!
I just fell in love with this spitfire Irish girl.
For me, it was over too soon.

Today has been a very cold and snowy day
So we figured we would stay indoors and
 work on Valentines Day boxes.

I let my kids comb through Pinterest looking for ideas.
This is what they came up with.
Kleenex boxes transformed!
The best part was that we already had everything we needed.
Win! Win!

Now I'm off to shovel my driveway, ug!
Thanks for stopping by :-)

  1. Isn't it fun to trade what we love to do with friends. This will be a fun quilt. You are such a sweet momma, making Valentine's boxes with the kids.

  2. I can't wait to see how this one turns out! Such a variety of prints in there, but I know it will look amazing when you are done. And how cool that you have a fun art teacher as a neighbor! I rarely have the chance to listen to audiobooks, but the narrator makes a huge difference, don't they?

  3. that is the very awesomest valentine box in the history of the world! i will be making some for sara and henry this weekend!!!

  4. Love the fabrics chosen - you have one awesome stash there Miss Lu.
Love the monsters - so sweet!

  5. Uhh - it looks like a fantastic swap :) love all the different fabrics you're using.

When you're done shoveling snow, would you mind to pop over here and shovel some more ;) I'm in my pj, just had my morning latte and trying to convince myself that the cozyness in front of the fireplace is much overrated and that I would be much happier outside shoveling snow.
