My quilt top for Art Mom with a Pearl Earring is complete!
I love all of the variety in this quilt!
It is very fitting of my friend Diane who is whimsical in every way.
I had hoped that the backing would be here by now.
Oh well.
I suppose, while I wait, I will cut into this
small fortune of Matilda Jane Clothes.
I am making a keepsake quilt for my friend
out of all of her daughters old clothes.
I have to admit that I'm terrified to cut into all of these pretties!
But I have really fun plans for them so
it's time for me to suck it up and start snipping and picking!
Wish me luck!
First of all, LOVE the quilt top!!! Those fabrics work so well together, can't wait to see if finished! You are gonna do great with the baby clothes :o)
ReplyDeleteYour quilt really caught my eye! You are really onto something with your fabric selection!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the progress on your keepsake quilt. My third is growing out of his infant clothes now, and I'm collecting them to cut into. There are some really cute ideas out there -- I've been stowing them away on a Pinterest board. Mine are mostly Old Navy and Carter's knit boywear, though. Not quite like your friend's pile up there . . . .
ReplyDeleteLovely! I love all the colors as well.
ReplyDeleteI am dying about those MJ clothes being cut up! If there are a few you "forget" to cut up...j/k
Love your quilt. It is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnd that clothes quilt is going to be amazing! I can't wait to see it!
Ekkk I have been on the hunt for the bottom knot dress on the right for a good price :) Maybe she won't notice if you don't use that one :) Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh and I have seen the red polka dot flutter sleeve dress go for $75-$100 resell lately....so don't mess that one up.....LOL
ReplyDeletelooks like a pretty quilt you have going there. Lots of great fabrics.
ReplyDeleteNow cutting up and sewing knit clothes...that should be fun and challenging. Can't wait to see what yo create with the baby clothes.
I cant wait to see what you come up with for your little girls quilt. So excited to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteWish me luck...I too am starting a MJ quilt of my granddaughters clothes!!! Any pointers????
