Back at Shabby!

Hi everyone!
I'm back at One Shabby Chick today doing a really fun giveaway!
I just added a new pattern to my store, her name is Nina.
She's beautiful, cool and so classy!

The Nina quilt was inspired by this GORGEOUS bed...

I don't need a bed but I do need a quilt that looks just like it!
In addition to the pattern, I am giving away a fabulous Fabricworm fat quarter bundle to help the lucky winner get started.

Two down!

I haven't spent much time with my sewing machine this week.
But I did find some time to crank out 2 of these blocks!
7 more to go.....

I was very surprised at just how quickly these HUGE blocks come together.
I was fully prepared for something far more complicated!

Camille Roskelley is a bit of a genius if I do say so myself!
I've had so much fun working on these blocks.
I kinda wanna pull an all nighter and see how much I can get done  watch The Office season premier tonight ;-)

I'm Swooning....

Here are a few patterns that I just had to have!

Isn't is so cheery and fun?
It so reminds me of my 3 year old.
I could NOT resist!

I hate my current purse!
I'v been on the hunt for something great for ages.
I guess if you want something done you've got to do it yourself.
I love the outer pockets!
I could easily drop my phone in avoiding the digging around the deep abyss while it rings....and rings .....and rings.

Last but not least, the Swoon Quilt.
I have lost sleep over this pattern!
I am dying to get started on it.
I'm tempted to do it in Christmas colors but I'll likely do it in something that suits my bedroom.

I truly love the artists community!
There is so much to enjoy.
I believe that everyone has super hero talents in some department!

Fruit Salad

So, I decided to chop up the fruit!
(aka old beloved Boden skirt)

These blocks are for 2 sisters in foster care who are in danger of becoming hardened and cynical.
The woman who cares for them is very generous and kind.
She is looking for opportunities to keep them sweet and loving.

It breaks my heart.

It wasn't hard for me to part with said skirt for these young girls.
I could have made the blocks without it.  But for some odd reason I just really wanted this fabric to be in the quilt.  These blocks are all the more special to me because of it.
Now off to the post office to get them mailed in!

Modern Day Quilts

Today my Max quilt is being featured over on Modern Day Quilts

Modern Day Quilts is such a cool blog!  She features a different quilt every day.
At the moment, she is asking for help in replacing the blankets of children who lost everything to the Central Texas wildfires.
Go here to check it out!

To cut or not to cut?

So I'm finally back to my sewing room!
This time I'm working on a mini project for a great cause.
I am donating 2 blocks that will be used in quilts for two sisters that are in foster care.
These girls are greatly in need of some love and kindness.
You can read more about them here.

Here are the blocks we've been asked to donate...

They need to be purple and pink, they're favorite colors.
So.....I have this amazing old skirt from Boden that doesn't fit quite right.
I'm seriously considering chopping it up just for these two sisters.

I think it will be so cute!
Just one thing, is it too cutesy for teenagers?
I mean, it's fruit.
I'm leaning toward the chopping option.
